Parents, Family and Friends of the Band and Color Guard

This is a reminder that we will have our Goodwill Fundraiser this Saturday (May 12) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Poly High School.

We need your help with several things:

Clean out your garage and bring items to Poly (the more we get, the more money we make)

Print the Goodwill Donation flier and pass it out to neighbors, family, and friends and ask them to clean out their garage and donate. We will pick up — the information is on the flier.

We need volunteers to pass out the fliers to local residents who are having yard sales and to pick up items. If you can help, please contact Phil Pitchford.

Please pitch in and help us to fund this program. Remember: If you cannot get the items to Poly, we will pick up.

Reminder: Each student has been given a schedule of when they are expected to come to Poly to help.

Just a reminder that we have a Riverside Poly Band/Booster meeting tomorrow night (May 2) 7 p.m. at Poly High School. Please plan on attending.
We have several items to discuss, including:

      1. Nominations for next year’s board and open positions (We have lots of openings so please consider being a part of our board)
      2. Goodwill – pickups this weekend and the event next week (Thank you to all the parents who came out and helped during the Wood Streets yard sale event)
      3. Banquet and end-of-year activities

We would like to thank local real estate agents Rosemary and Larry Utesch for letting us take part in their huge annual yard sale. This type of community partnership helps us all to be stronger.

If you have questions, please send an e-mail to board@riversidepolyband.com.

Silent Auction and Shopping Spree Winner

Post Date: Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

Dear Parents, and Band and Color Guard Supporters:

We are still looking for donations for the silent auction. If you have any goods or services to offer, or even a time share week you’d be willing to donate, please contact Fred Suplee at fred@riversidepolyband.com and we will make arrangements.

The winner of the Ford Drive One 4UR School $500 shopping spree at Riverside Plaza is Joe Madore. Joe is a long time friend of the Maynard family and came out to support the band. Thank you Joe and thank you to the Maynard family for bringing him to us.

And thank you to the Ford Motor Corporation, Fritts Ford, the Mazz Bar and Grill, and the Riverside Plaza for their support of the fundraiser. We had more than 250 drivers and we expect to break $5,000 for the day. These funds will be very helpful as we work toward bringing our bottom line back in black.

Please get involved in our future fundraisers, including an upcoming Goodwill Donation Day. Together we can raise the funds needed to keep our program strong.

Board President

Today’s the Day!

Post Date: Saturday, March 10th, 2012

It’s finally here — today is the day to come out and Drive One for Your School (thank you Ford Motor Corp. and Fritts Ford in Riverside)

We really need as many people as possible to come out and raise money for the band. We will be at the Riverside Plaza from 1 to 8 p.m.

Here are some important things to know.

1. We get $20 for every person who does a test drive.
2. There is no cost to the test driver, no obligation and YOU WILL NOT BE CONTACTED BY A SALESPERSON. (How easy is that?)
3. Only one person may test drive per household and you must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license.
4. You could win a $500 shopping spree.
5. This year we are bringing back the prize Wheel of Excitement (thank you to Phil Pitchford, king of the Wheel of Excitement)

Come out and support our program in the easiest $20 you will ever make (for the Riverside Poly Band and Color Guard.

Check out the flier here.

Two more days until Ford Drive One

Post Date: Thursday, March 8th, 2012

We have just two more days until the Ford Drive One for Your School event. This is our most important fundraising event of the year.

As a matter of fact a story in the Press-Enterprise yesterday. Read that story here.

If we can get 300 people to come to our event between 1 and 8 p.m. on Saturday (March 10), we will have raised $6,000 for our program. At this point, we desperately need this money to continue to fund the program. Remember, we do not get funds from the district to cover many of the band and color guard program expenses. We are asking all parents to participate and that each family invite as many friends and neighbors.

It is a quick, NO PRESSURE process. As a matter of fact parent volunteers (not sales people) will take drivers on their test drive.

Please, please please, take part in this fundraiser. Print out the flier and pass is out to everyone you know.

The Excitement is Building — Four more days

There will be no pressure from sales people. You won’t get any calls or e-mails at home. It’s free money for the band, courtesy of Fritts Ford and the Ford Motor Corporation.

Please not that you must be 18 years and older to drive a car and only one driver per household.

Dear Poly Band and Color Guard family and friends:

On Saturday, March 10 from 1 to 8 p.m. we will have one of our most important fundraisers of the year: the Ford Drive One for Your School.

This is the second year we have had this event, with much thanks to Fritts Ford. Last year we raised approximately $6,000 for the band and color guard program.

Here is the best part: There is no cost to participants. All you have to do is show up and test drive a car.

It’s a short no-pressure process. No salesman will call your home or send follow-up e-mails.

Please print out the attached flier and give it to your family, friends, and neighbors.

Let’s work together to make this a successful event.

Just a reminder that the boosters will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night (Jan. 12). In the band room. It’s a new year and we have many exciting events coming up that promise to be big fundraisers, but will also require a lot of parent participation. Please attend and find out how you can help.

Don’t forget that this Friday is the Disneyland trip. Students should arrive by 7 a.m. It is important that each child bring their instrument as well as their black shoes, black socks and their band T-shirt. Please put the clothing items in a bag with the name written on the outside of the bag. Students who do not bring these items will not be able to take part in the parade.
