Website Advertising
Post Date: Friday, February 5th, 2010Hi Everyone!
We have implemented a new fundraising opportunity through the band website. We are now able to support banner advertising! We have multiple website locations, and size options to choose from. So, if your company, or the business of someone you know, wants to reach a targeted audience, this is a great opportunity. This is perfect for orthodontists, restaurants, retail stores with electronics and games, auto dealers and more!
Since the website debuted last summer we have had over 13,000 views. In fact, on a single day last Fall we had 255 views! The small sample ads in the website’s right sidebar have been displayed almost 20,000 times!
Our students, and their families, visit our website regularly to receive news, schedules, photos, videos, and itineraries. With over 150 students currently in the program, along with their siblings and parents, this is a great market!
Audience
A predictable client market
Families with children of all ages
Older and younger siblings help create long term clientele
Targeted Riverside area
Possible tax deductions (consult your tax professional)

Water, Soda, Baked Goods, Other Donations Needed for the Swing Dance
Post Date: Monday, January 25th, 2010The Poly Band Swing Dance will take place from 7-10 p.m. on Feb. 13 at the First United Methodist Church, 4845 Brockton Ave. (right behind Central Middle School). Dress is semi-formal, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes if you plan on dancing.
We will also crown the Proud Heritage Prince and Princess of Swing.
This is going to be a fun event and proceeds will go to the Poly band and color guard program, so sell lots of tickets to your family and friends. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children. Swing band kids have tickets and parent volunteers will be selling tickets after school at Poly on Jan. 29 and Feb. 3.
We still need your help to make this event a success. Here is how you can help:
- • Soda and baked goods: We will sell water, soda and baked goods. Bring water or soda donations on Friday, Jan. 29 and Feb. 5. Lynel Day, Tyler’s mother, will be at Poly after school collecting your contributions. Tyler can also collect donations on any of the other days. Baked goods should be individually wrapped for sale. Bring them to the dance, or contact Beth Campbell to arrange for a pickup.
- • Security: We need some parents to volunteer to provide security. This will entail occasionally going outside the venue to ensure that the site is safe and secure. To volunteer contact Dan Alexander.
- • Decorating: We need decorations, light strings, fake plants, etc. to make the room festive. If you have something to donate or want to help decorate contact Kim Lane. Anyone have access to an inexpensive dance floor? Let us know.
Questions? Contact Beth Campbell or Kim Lane
