We will be asking kids to sell tickets for both events and to work as well. Details to arrive in the near future.
ENTERTAINMENT COUPON BOOKS – Thank you to all the students who took an Entertainment coupon book. This week for the Poly Band: parking, fundraisers, dine out and more.
Post Date: Sunday, August 14th, 2011Hi parents and welcome to the beginning of band and color guard season.
As you know Monday marks the start of band camp. Recently, we were contacted by the school district and have been asked to make sure parents and students know that they cannot park in the parking lot of Temple Beth El or in the surrounding neighborhoods.
So where should you park? As of yet, this remains unclear. What we do know is that Poly administrators return to work on Monday and they will have to park their cars. We hope that the district will have a solution by then.
To be safe, when possible – at least for the first day of camp – we suggest that students not drive and that parents drop their children off in front of the school.
We appologize for any inconvience, but hope a solution is forthcoming. We will let you know as soon as we hear.
Other important news:
End-of-camp gathering – Parents and family members: Remember to mark your calendars for 6 p.m. Aug. 24, when we invite you to come see the kids show off what they learned during camp. You will also have a chance to find out more about the program. Your booster board will provide hot dogs, but we ask that parents bring side dishes and desserts. If your child’s last name is A-M, please bring a side dish or salad; last name N-Z please bring a dessert. More information will be sent out shortly.
Dine-out night: We will have a dine-out night on Aug. 17 at the Substation, 3663 Canyon Crest Dr., near UC Riverside. For those of you who have never been there, the sandwiches and salads are EXCELLENT! Bring the attached flier and turn it in with your order. See the Substation menu here.
Water and soda donations: As we head into the season, we need donations of water and soda to give to the kids on competition days to keep them hydrated. Please send donations with your child to school.
Volunteers: We have many volunteer opportunites. In particular, we are looking for parents to be part of the car wash committee; someone to help run the website; and someone to sell ads for the website. If you are interested in these positions, contact Phil Pitchford about the car wash committee and Kim Lane for the website positions. And be sure to check volunteer duty sign up sheets at the potluck event on Aug. 24.
Questions: Contact a member of your booster board.
