Technology Volunteer Needed

Post Date: October 2nd, 2011

Dear Poly Band Families,

Riverside Poly Band is in need of a volunteer, or volunteers, to take over some of the behind-the-scenes technology administration. We try to provide our families with many ways to:

Keep up-to-date with band related information
View event photos and videos
Participate in keeping this organization strong

To accomplish this task we maintain and distribute information through a wide variety of technology services, including:

Our Website
Twitter
Facebook
YouTube
Flickr

As the years pass we have parent volunteers come and go, and at this time we need someone to take over the behind-the-scenes administration of our online accounts. Many of these services, such as those mentioned above, you may already be familiar with or use yourself, but the list also includes our web site hosting and email account administration.

Ms. Lane, as she has done for the past few years, is still managing the website content and sending out the band newsletter emails. Ms. Farrar has taken over the Flickr administration. For the other areas, I can train almost anyone that is willing to learn how to manage these services, but having some existing techie abilities can make it easier. If you would like to help Riverside Poly Band in this area, please contact Steve Brazill, using the “webmaster” option, through the band’s website contact page.

Thank you,

Steve Brazill

Greetings:

I want to take a moment to personally thank everyone who participated in the bake sale that we held during back-to-school night last Thursday.  All of the items we sold were donated and that does not go unnoticed.  Through your tremendous generosity the bake sale  raised more than $350!  We also brought in more than $600 in T-shirt, entertainment book and Carl’s Jr. coupon books sales.

We also received several substantial monetary donations.  These family donations will go far toward reaching our final goal.  Thank you very much to those who made these donations and to those who have been making similar monthly donations.  Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

All in all it was a very successful week in fundraising.  Thanks again to all who participated and to those who joined in our booster meeting during 6th period.  It was very nice to see all of you on Thursday and I am looking forward to working with all of you during the coming year.

Regards,

Fred Suplee, President
