There may have been a miscommunication regarding the payment of admission to the band banquet. Hopefully this email will clear up any questions.

The banquet is this Friday, from 6-9 p.m., at Central Middle School.

The cost is $15 per person. Everyone who enters the facility, including members of the band and color guard, has to pay; there are no exceptions.

Kids can pay every day this week and at the door the night of the banquet. If you would like to pay this week, give your money to Julianne Pitchford or Robby Mayhew. They will record your name and how much you paid. Everyone will check in at the door the night of the banquet and be given a food coupon as they enter. There are no tickets to take home.

The facility seats 270 people. If you wait to pay the night of the event and we reach the 270 limit while you are in line to pay, you will miss out. So it is best to pay in advance.

Also, don’t forget to purchase your banquet tickets. This is an event for the entire family. Tickets are $15 each. Everyone needs a ticket to get in (including band and color guard members).

This is a reminder that the Riverside Poly Band and Color Guard end-of-the-year banquet will be this Friday, May 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Central Middle School, 4795 Magnolia Ave.

Cost is just $15. This will be a fun night, with food, lots of awards and senior good-byes. The entire family is encouraged to attend.

Please have your child send your payment (cash or check made out to Poly Band and Color Guard Boosters) to Julianne Pitchford or Robby Mayhew.

No tickets will be distributed. Payments will be recorded in a roster and noted as you enter the banquet. You may also pay at the door.

Parents, Family and Friends of the Band and Color Guard

This is a reminder that we will have our Goodwill Fundraiser this Saturday (May 12) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Poly High School.

We need your help with several things:

Clean out your garage and bring items to Poly (the more we get, the more money we make)

Print the Goodwill Donation flier and pass it out to neighbors, family, and friends and ask them to clean out their garage and donate. We will pick up — the information is on the flier.

We need volunteers to pass out the fliers to local residents who are having yard sales and to pick up items. If you can help, please contact Phil Pitchford.

Please pitch in and help us to fund this program. Remember: If you cannot get the items to Poly, we will pick up.

Reminder: Each student has been given a schedule of when they are expected to come to Poly to help.

Just a reminder that we have a Riverside Poly Band/Booster meeting tomorrow night (May 2) 7 p.m. at Poly High School. Please plan on attending.
We have several items to discuss, including:

1. Nominations for next year’s board and open positions (We have lots of openings so please consider being a part of our board)
2. Goodwill – pickups this weekend and the event next week (Thank you to all the parents who came out and helped during the Wood Streets yard sale event)
3. Banquet and end-of-year activities

We would like to thank local real estate agents Rosemary and Larry Utesch for letting us take part in their huge annual yard sale. This type of community partnership helps us all to be stronger.

The Wood Street area will have 130 yard sales and thanks to the assistance of Larry and Rosemary Utesch, the organizers of the event, we could have a huge demand for pickups. We expect to pick up from 1 to 4 p.m. (plenty of time to get home to see your kids off to the prom.

We will go out again the following week and pass out fliers. Our goal is to fill up as many trucks as possible and raise $2,000 or more for our band and color guard kids.

If you have a truck, if you can help pick up or if you can just pass out fliers, please let us know.

In addtional news, Poly’s JV color guard earned the bronze medal last weekend in the regional competition in Class A division, and our varsity guard won the GOLD medal in the regional AAA division!!!!

Congrats to our championship guards and staff!!!!

Dear band and color guard supporters:

Because of spring break, we have changed the date of the next booster meeting to April 11 when we will meet at 7 p.m. in the band room. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. We would love to see some new faces this month!

We are still looking for donations for the silent auction. If you have any goods or services to offer, or even a time share week you’d be willing to donate, please contact Fred Suplee at fred@riversidepolyband.com and we will make arrangements.

The winner of the Ford Drive One 4UR School $500 shopping spree at Riverside Plaza is Joe Madore. Joe is a long time friend of the Maynard family and came out to support the band. Thank you Joe and thank you to the Maynard family for bringing him to us.

And thank you to the Ford Motor Corporation, Fritts Ford, the Mazz Bar and Grill, and the Riverside Plaza for their support of the fundraiser. We had more than 250 drivers and we expect to break $5,000 for the day. These funds will be very helpful as we work toward bringing our bottom line back in black.

Please get involved in our future fundraisers, including an upcoming Goodwill Donation Day. Together we can raise the funds needed to keep our program strong.

We have IPAD raffle tickets available for sale for $3 for one or $5 for two. The drawing will be held at the spring concert on May 22. You need not be present to win.

If you think you can sell some tickets at work, to friends, neighbors or relatives. please contact Mary Ann and she will l get you all the tickets you need. All we ask is that you sell what you can and return the unsold ones.
