It’s back-to school night on Thursday, Sept. 22. It starts at 6:05 p.m. for children who start the day with a zero period and 6:30 p.m. for children who start the day with 1st period.

Yes, Mr. Mooring would like parents to attend the sixth period session, which begins at 8:10 p.m.

We will have a baked goods sale during the evening to raise money for our program. We are asking parents to donate cookies, cakes, finger desserts.

Please make sure items are wrapped as single-servings to be sold for 25 or 50 cents each. Please bring your donation to the table, before back-to-school night gets underway. The table will be located near the band room.

Thank you to former band parent Kim George, who is returning to help us with this fundraiser.

Goodwill LogoWe will have a Goodwill collection day on Aug. 27. Last year we raised more than $3,000 in this event and we are hoping to get even more this year.

This is a parent volunteer opportunity. We need parents (especially those with trucks) to help with picking up items on both Aug. 20 and Aug 27 as well as parents to pass out fliers to yard sales.

To schedule a pick up or to volunteer, contact Phil Pitchford.

Below is a list of what we can accept.

GUIDELINES FOR DONATIONS
ACCEPTABLE:
All items donated must be in good condition. “sellable as is.” We no longer repair, refinish or reupholster. Over the past 10 years, our repair workshops have been replaced with training programs. Goodwill has specific guidelines to help decrease the amount of “unsellable” items that are brought to us, since the cost of handling these items is very high and takes away from our vocational rehabilitation programs. We do not take any broken items or furniture with holes, rips or stains.
We can best use the following items that are clean, complete & in sellable condition:
Antiques & collectibles
Area rugs
